Immunohistochemistry (IHC) Tips

Antigen retrieval:

Due to potential reactions between methanol or polyoxymethylene and antigens in the tissue, epitopes are sheltered. Antigen retrieval steps aim to rebuild the recognition of antigen epitopes. Typical antigen retrieval procedures can be divided into subtypes of (strength up to down): high pressure antigen retrieval, microwave antigen retrieval and pancreatin antigen retrieval. Antigen retrieval buffer differs by pH.

For a good antigen retrieval, microwave (6 min *4) is recommended.

*Remember to cool down in room temperature for 30 min.
